Essays in Simulation & Society are published throughout the academic year, with new issues released in the spring and fall. Each issue centers around a unifying theme, bringing together critical reflections on the cultural, philosophical, and psychological dimensions of life in an age of simulation.

Have you written an essay for a class about AI and society? A paper that made you think differently about generative AI, virtual worlds, algorithms, or digital companions? We’re always looking for thoughtful, well-crafted student work to feature, especially pieces that ask big questions or offer fresh perspectives.

If you’re interested in publishing your work or want to learn more about the submission process, email ahlab@usc.edu. We’re happy to talk through ideas and help you figure out whether your essay might be a good fit.
